Made
from yak and camel

The Otherways products are made in Tibetan yak and Mongolian camel wools.
Wild or more often domestic yaks live at high-altitude above 3000 meters in the Tibetan mountains, on the borders of the Himalayas. Their wool is made up of a slight down that the nomads call khullu. Its properties are comparable to those of cashmere. The yaks naturally shed their hair in the spring.
The Mongolian camel is one of the most valuable species in the Gobi Desert. The promotion of its wool contributes to its protection. The camel fleece recovery is done by mowing.
The Otherways products consist of exceptional raw materials and are collected without pain.

Made
by hand

The Otherways products are made entirely by hand.
The hand is present in all the stages of the manufacturing process of Otherways products, from the processing of the yarns and their dyeing to their packaging and their labeling through their weaving.
Sure and methodical, it is sovereign to install, set, adjust and weave on the loom which requires a specific expertise for the composition of singular patterns.
The hand is not here a unique tool but represents several in the service of the intelligence of a versatile and qualified team. An apparent repetition conceals a myriad of gestures giving man the ability to create.
The Otherways products combine the virtuosity of this secular know-how and the originality of a more contemporary intention.

Made
with respect and care

The Otherways products are made in a human enterprise.
The workshop from which they came was born in 2011 at the initiative of a management based on 15 years of experience in the manufacture of textile articles intended for a demanding clientele and orienting towards the high-end.
The manager, a young Nepalese woman, is attentive to the conditions of work and fair as regards compensation of her team; and thanks to her competence and authority, she helps individuals to move forward and to build oneself in self-confidence and respect for others.
Individual actions are coordinated, welded and merged into the workshop. One can substitute instantly for the other in his task with a similar passion and pleasure without losing his own identity. This dynamic guarantees the safeguarding and transmission of traditional techniques.
The Otherways products testify to this greed for perfection and jealously guard this human density.
